Setting the Tone

This marks the beginning of a journey, or an endeavour if you will, into the exploration of fashion, creativity, business, management, and the links between them. As students we spend a great deal of time taking in information, whether that be ideas or theories or practices or observations, there are endless amounts of inputs. Here though, we will be expanding upon that information, formatting it to fit our needs, and developing new knowledge within our own specific context. Our aim is to be innovative, yet practical; creative, yet rational.

Without revealing too many details about the brand that we are working with, as they have yet to formally launch, in our first meeting we discussed the brand’s needs. Specifically, we discussed growth and how that can be achieved. We zeroed in on what we took to be the vital, missing elements that the brand should take steps to begin to incorporate. We formulated a base from which we could begin to explore opportunities and strategies for the brand to undertake. Brainstorming and formulating individual mood boards is our next step to begin the process of gathering inspiration. So next week lookout for a lot of visual inspiration and contextual analysis.
